What’s Changing in 2027?

Over the past 23 years, Jay Jacob Wind, has been directing the Potomac River Marathon (PRR) and Half. During that time he had raised hundreds of thousands of dollars not only through PRR but through the direction, consulting, and support of hundreds of races in the DC area.  At the end of 2026, he is being forced to retire from directing most races due to health concerns.  Having lived in the DC area for over 40 years, I am very hard pressed to find a single person who had not only directed and run so many races not to mention his positive impact on the DC running community.  Marathon Charity Cooperation (MCC) is proud to accept the passing of the torch in being given the opportunity to continue Jay’s tradition and conduct the 24th Potomac River Marathon (PRR) and Half in May 2027.  We are honored to accept Jay’s legacy and thank you for running the 24th edition of this race.  As we accept the helm from Jay, we ask each of you to tell us your favorite parts of this event and also send us suggestions for improvement.  As we continue this tradition, we want to improve it to further honor Jay’s legacy.

Sincerely, Nicholas Panebianco, President, Marathon Charity Cooperation (MCC).
