STP Week 02 Peirce Mill

This week, we will be running along Beach Drive from Peirce Mill in Rock Creek Park @ 8:00 AM ET on Saturday, May 11th. The coaches will be Nick and Ram.

Sign Up: PLEASE sign-up for each training run.  It is important that you do so the Charity can ensure there is enough food for the run.  Please click on the following link and enter your information. Please Sign Up by Thursday (5/9) at Noon.

Register: If you haven’t already done so, please register for the Summer Training Program.  These weekly notifications will end on May 18th, except for those who register.

Meeting Point: Picnic Area 1 pavilion at Peirce Mill (there are two parking lots close by). You can also park on Shoemaker Street and Spring of Freedom Lane near the Embassy of Hungary. See map link below

Aid Stations: At the start/finish

Distance: The scheduled mileage is 4 miles for marathon trainees and 2 miles for the half-marathon trainees.

Route:

Full Marathoners: 4 miles: We will go North (left when facing Rock Creek from the parking lot) on the Rock Creek Trail and then on Beach Drive on our run.  We will run 2 miles to Joyce Rd (just past the police station) and return.

Half Marathoners: 2 miles: Same starting route as the full, but the turn around will be just past Boulder Bridge and return.  The turn around point will be marked.
